I'm very lucky to have this opportunity to get to know your child and teach them this year. Although my time with your child will be very short and sweet, I look forward to an awesome year with all of these incredible students in Grade 5!

Parental and Guardian Support
Do you ever find yourself wondering how you can do to support your child during the school year? The following ideas may come in handy before the end of the year: Volunteers are always welcome in Ecole Bonaventure. All volunteers must have all their record checks up to date and on file in the school as well as complete a volunteer orientation with our school administration. A volunteer orientation will be held on..... Encourage reading and writing at home. All it takes is a few minutes every day. Read to your child, listen to them read to you, have a sibling read with them or write a story together. Children love time with their loved ones and enjoy coming to school and sharing their experiences with their classmates. It is important to have conversations with your child. Find the time to sit with them and talk about their day, week etc. It's important to ask questions and listen to your child. If you ever have any questions or concerns that the teacher can help you with, please always feel free to contact me either via email or telephone. Keeping the lines of communication open between home and school is helpful for the student/parent/teacher relationship . All students have a school agenda. Any important notes can be written in the agenda and any more sensitive issues can either be emailed or discussed over the phone with the classroom teacher. If any changes of address, phone numbers or significant changes in your home occur, please let the classroom teacher and school know. Sometimes small changes can affect children in big ways. When a classroom teacher is made aware of issues whether big or small, they are able to better support their students and do their best to ensure a successful school day. |
